As you know, your promptness, accuracy and turnaround is extremely important, highly appreciated by our clients, and will continue to help us stay on top.
This issue focuses on tools to help you provide “perfect” realtime. I hope that you pick up some useful tips.
I urge you to attend the NCRA 2011 Mid-year Conference on March 24-27 in Baltimore. The Realtime Systems Administrator Workshop will be offered there. You will learn all about emerging technology and how instrumental it is to your business. NCRA’s goal is for you to leave the conference with new energy about technology so you can raise the bar on yourself and be more successful than ever.

“Hope for the best and prepare for the worst” is an axiom that pertains to successfully troubleshooting realtime hookups. Preparations begin and end with a complete “Realtime Reporter’s Toolbox” with the necessary tools of the trade. Do not be swayed to think you will never encounter a problem. It is not if a problem will happen, but merely a matter of time until a problem does occur. So be prepared.

I THINK I AM DUE
ATTORNEY: I’ve lost my last four cases in this court, but this time I have the law on my side.
JUDGE: What law is that, Counselor?”
ATTORNEY: The law of averages.
HE WAS IN MY WAY
ATTORNEY: What happened next?
WITNESS: The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve a number of times before I hit him.
Career planning counselor: “Well, sometimes it helps me to imagine the worst case scenario. So what’s the worst case scenario?”
Law Student: “Not getting a job when I graduate law school in two months so I’m unable to meet my living expenses or pay back student loans, and then I’ll have to live in a cardboard box in Central Park.”
Career planning counselor: “Yeah, but at least you’ll have your health.”
